The Orion spacecraft for Artemis 1, which is being transported by NASA’s Super Guppy aircraft, safely arrived at Mansfield Lahm Regional Airport in Ohio yesterday.
Members of the public were invited to check out the cool space technology and learn about NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to place the first woman and the next man on the moon by 2024, Fox 8 Cleveland reported.

A video posted by NASA shows the fish-like plane arriving at the airport. Conditions were clear yesterday and the aircraft made a smooth landing on the runway.
This isn’t the final stop for the Orion spacecraft: According to a Facebook post from NASA’s Glenn Research Center, it’s headed to NASA’s Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio, to wrap up additional testing.
“The spacecraft is headed to NASA’s Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio for the final stretch of major testing before integration with the Space Launch System rocket for the Artemis I launch,” NASA’s Glenn Research Center wrote in a post. “Orion will undergo thermal and electromagnetic testing in our Space Environments Complex.”
